There are two types of professional surrogacy options: an agency surrogacy and an independent surrogacy. In an independent surrogacy, intended parents and surrogates usually only work with a surrogacy lawyer and a fertility clinic to complete their surrogacy process. With an agency surrogacy, there are a few more options with how the agency supports the surrogacy process:

• Private or independent agency. We’ll call these mom-and-pop surrogacy agencies. They can offer the emotional help and guidance that is needed and sometimes matching services. But these kinds of agencies are often small and don’t have access to the lawyers and medical professionals you will need.
• Law firm or medical firm. With these agencies,  you might not get the emotional support you’ll need nor matching services but you’ll have legal and medical support.
• Full service surrogacy agency. Our Surrogacy Choices network of agencies are a combination of these types of agencies. From the initial consultation, we provide the guidance you need, matching services, and help connect you with a legal team and medical support. We carry the responsibility of your surrogacy process for you and you will be well supported as intended parents or as a gestational surrogate.
